It is not Fin Actions any more. It is two different renames.

This looks like pedantry until you watch an admin lose an afternoon. They get handed a scoping document that says configure Fin Actions, they search the help centre, they find something called Data connectors instead, and they either guess or wait for someone to answer Slack.

Product names are not decoration in a build document. They are the search terms your team will type.

What actually changed

There are two separate renames here, and most write-ups collapse them into one.

Fin Actions became Data connectors. Fin Actions was a genuine beta product name. The old help centre URLs still exist and redirect to pages now titled Data connectors. So if your runbook says Fin Actions, it was not wrong when it was written. It is just out of date.

Fin Tasks is being succeeded by Procedures. Since March 12, 2026, new Task creation is disabled. Existing Tasks keep working and you can still edit and pause them. Procedures reached general availability for everyone on June 19, 2026.

So the two coexist. Tasks are frozen but supported. Procedures are where new work goes.

The third word worth knowing

Guidance is the instruction layer. It shapes tone, language, escalation triggers and response style, and it sits on top of whichever mechanism you use. Most underperforming Fin deployments we open have Guidance either empty or filled with a generic template somebody pasted in during onboarding.

If you only fix one thing this week, open Guidance and read what it actually says.

Why stale names are expensive

• Search fails. Vendor help centres index their own current product names, not last year's.
• Scope arguments start. If two documents use two names, somebody assumes they describe two pieces of work and prices both.
• Handover rots. A runbook in retired vocabulary ages badly the moment its author leaves.

A quick self-check

Open your internal AI runbook and search it for Fin Actions. If it is in there, the document predates March 2026, and it is worth asking what else in it aged at the same rate.

That is the kind of thing an audit surfaces in writing, ranked, in one to two weeks.
